About Us

Cannacter, the cannabis network, was founded in 2018 in a West Seattle studio apartment by cannabis advocates and cloud computing consultants Steffo Mitakides, Josh Sordelet and Joerg Joergensen.  They founded Cannacter to level the playing field for both farmers and retailers and make it easier to buy and sell wholesale cannabis products. The Cannacter team curates the best cannabis products and works with the best farms and retailers in Washington. Their motto is "Let farmers be farmers!" They are advocates for small, family-owned farms and want to keep “Big Weed” out of Washington.

Having founded Cornerstate Distribution in 2016, Steffo has worked with some of the best cannabis Farmer/Producers in Washington and seen the inefficiencies in the sales process first-hand. Upon obtaining funding  from Google Cloud in late 2017, he, Josh and Joerg began to develop the industry’s first B2B online marketplace featuring a reverse auction. They created Cannacter to build a community where farmers earn a fair price and retailers get the best available cannabis products.

For retailers, the Cannacter platform gives better access to exceptional producer/processors, streamlines communications, and facilitates the sample and re-order process. For farmers, Cannacter enables quality retail exposure, identifies the right stores and market fit for particular brands, and establishes price based on value. Smaller farms are working with Cannacter to identify net-new stores, and more established farms are using Cannacter for surplus/inventory management.

Cannacter plans to grow into Oregon and California in 2020.
